VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Volunteers Needed

Seneca County Workforce Development & Youth Bureau, in partnership with the IRS and United Way of Seneca County are seeking volunteers for this upcoming tax season. VITA success relies on dedicated volunteers to provide free tax services to Seneca County residents.

VITA is a national program serving individuals and families who have income within 200% of Federal Poverty Guidelines per year. Volunteers will help individuals complete and electronically file their returns – all free of charge. Training is provided to ensure that all volunteers are comfortable with the basics of tax preparation. Ongoing support is always provided on-site during the tax season. The time commitment is flexible and can work around your schedule.

200% Federal Poverty Guidelines

VITA Volunteers do more than just prepare taxes. They play an important role ensuring that Seneca County residents are able to access valuable tax credits returning money back into our community. Volunteers also provide important information to customers about other free programs such as benefits screening, budget coaching, or helping clients stretch their dollars providing them with long-lasting financial security.

There are many benefits to becoming a VITA Volunteer: Free training helping you develop a lifelong skill and build up your resume, ongoing support, and recognition from the IRS, and most importantly the personal satisfaction you will gain from providing an important service to your community.
