The Seneca County Department of Workforce Development is a cooperative effort with partners in the Finger Lakes Works System in the four-county Finger Lakes region. We serve both job seekers and employers in programs supported by WIOA.

This program provides employment-related activities and services to Human Services recipients with the goal of gaining employment.

Basic Services

Are available to all job seekers and include:

  • Job leads, available self-service or through assisted listings, for
    • The Local Area
    • New York State
    • Nationwide
  • Orientation to services
  • Workshops on resume writing, interviewing and job search topics
  • Job Club
  • Labor market/labor law information
  • Resource room with computers, Internet access, fax and copy service for job-related activities and printed materials
  • Apprenticeship programs
  • Follow-up services after employment
  • Basic screening for skills and abilities
  • Information on partner agencies

Individualized Services 

Designed to help individuals obtain employment:

  • Comprehensive skills assessment
  • Development of individual employment plan
  • Career counseling and planning
  • Case management
  • Short-term pre-vocational training
  • Job development including employer connection

Training Services

For dislocated workers and other eligible job seekers:

  • Occupational skills training
  • On-the-Job Training
  • Skills upgrading
  • Job readiness training
  • Adult education and literacy activities
