The Seneca County Fatherhood Connection is an educational component of the Seneca County DHS Fatherhood Initiative. The mission is to empower and provide opportunity for skill sharing and development, access to resources, and strengthen families through connected fathers.
What are we about?
There is nothing but benefits when participating in the Seneca County Fatherhood Connection. Often times, we as men:
- Do not realize that there is support exclusive to the issues of men. We should support and encourage one another. Our desire as men should be to positively influence and educate our children.
- Men play a unique role in the lives of children. Even when we are not biological fathers, there is still a strong role and responsibility that we have towards children in general. There is an old proverb that states, “It takes a village to raise a child.” That philosophy applies here.
The Seneca County Fatherhood Connection gives men the opportunity to communicate with other like-minded men who believe we should all have a responsibility and desire to leave a positive legacy for our children.
The Seneca County Fatherhood Connection is a resource that is offered to men at NO COST. It is dedicated to empowering, educating, supporting and challenging men to become stronger, more positive forces within their own families and communities.
We encourage men to be role models who are willing and able to provide the leadership, social, emotional and spiritual guidance that is needed to nurture their children.
Through 13 weekly meetings in a group setting at Seneca County Fatherhood Connection strives to rekindle the values that allowed med and families to prosper for generations.
With this support, we can strengthen our children as individuals, and they can in turn strengthen our communities and future generations.
The program consists of a series of 13 interactive classes, trained facilitators and experienced fathers at a convenient location. A meal is provided at each session.
